The Arab Vote in the Election to the 14th Knesset, 29 May 1996

The authors describe pre-election organizational efforts and voting patterns in the 14th Knesset elections, and analyze the significance of the voting results. Appendices include voting indices based on data collected by the Central Election Committee. One appendix is devoted to excerpts from the platforms of new Arab parties relating to demands regarding the status of the Arab population as a national minority in Israel and regarding basic changes in the nature and definition of the state.
