Prime Minister Ehud Olmert introduced a government policy aimed to achieve equality and integration of the Israeli Arabs in Israel on several key issues involving education, economic development, and the ownership claims of Negev Bedouins. In the field of education Mr. Olmert said that while 8,000 classrooms are planned for construction in the Arab sector, this alone will not solve the problem, and the government plans to study the other gaps dividing Arabs and Jews and to prepare the plan for the next five years.
