Toronto | Jews and Arabs in Israel: Investing in a Shared Future | Nov 3rd

Increasing the participation of Arab citizens in Israel’s advanced economy is a major government priority today. High rates of poverty and low contribution to GDP result in annual economic losses nationally and persistent social divisions. Moreover, Arab economic development means closing gaps and tapping into the creative potential of one fifth of Israel’s population.

On November 3rd, the Task Force and UJA Federation of Greater Toronto hosted the third annual Irwin Green forum on Jews and Arabs in Israel, with:

Aiman Saif, Director-General, Authority for Economic Development of the Minorities Sector in the Prime Minister’s Office – on the unprecedented level of government investment in infrastructure and employment.

Ifat Baron, CEO, IT Works – on civil society efforts to close economic gaps by expanding the booming high-tech industry into Israel’s Arab society.

Safa Garb, JDC Division Director, Arab Society and Infrastructure – on removing barriers to employment for Arab citizens and establishing career centres throughout the country.
